Old Man Winter probably has a mustache

I was just thinking, "man, I am so sick of driving in the snow...", and it made me pine for the spring and summer when I work at a cart drawing caricatures at Boston's Faneuil Hall (well actually its Marketplace Center, but same thing to me). Melissa is a grad student studying to become a teacher, and she was nice enough to let me use some of her pictures from last August when she visited Boston. I wish she removed the plastic bag BEFORE taking a picture of the finished caricature (the glare is intense!) but I guess I'm lucky to have an example of retail work at all. Melissa seemed a little chagrined at her caricature's body, but hey, sometimes you have to go for a laugh (plus i love drawing sexy school teachers!). The drawing is done on 8"x10" cardstock with Sharpie Calligraphic pen and Chartpak markers.

What's the BEST thing about February 14th?*

Here's a caricature sketch i did semi-recently of my friend and overall good sport, Sydney. The photo reference itself is a little fuzzy, but I thought it worked out fairly well. The sketch was done in a ball-point pen (stolen from a Best Western, I believe). The picture of the sketch is HORRIBLE, I know...but I promise to post a properly scanned in copy soon. Like really, really soon.

Ooops, forgot this one

Not really what I'd consider a "studio piece", but this was done for my friends TJ and Deanna to give to their family this past Christmas. Below is a caricature of Kristy, Brad & Afton. The photo reference left a little to be desired for me, but hey, I'm not one to complain (not out loud anyways). I also included a fast sketch I drew first (in Sharpie Calligraphic pen). The finished drawing was done in ball point pen, Sharpie Calligraphic pen, and colored with Chartpak markers on 8"x10" cardstock. The photograph is terrible, sorry...blame my phone!

And so it begins....

Hi. I'm Scott. I work for full-time for a Boston-based (but nationally traveling) novelty entertainment company specializing in caricatures and airbrush artwork. Mostly, I work at events and parties, but I'm also beginning to delve into studio pieces. I'm hoping to eventually post more studio work (the stuff that takes more than six minutes) but until I get slightly less lazy, these pictures will all be from events (so the quality of pictures is dubious). Ahh, first post and it turns out to be a disclaimer....
